As a fully trained and UKCP registered Hypno-psychotherapist, Dr Nightingale treats patients for a number of problems ranging from severe anxiety to deep-rooted psychological complexes. He is one of only a handful of Psychotherapists trained to assess and treat those living with dementia and is the Head of the Faculty of Dementia at the National College of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy.
 
Along with Dr Simon Duff, he researched the use of this approach and developed a technique that is now taught to post graduate psychotherapists. To date, Drs Nightingale and Duff have had their work published in Europe and the USA.
 
He also offers reflective counselling, psychotherapy and Hypno-psychotherapy to assist people with a number of difficulties associated with dementia, including agitation, frustration, motivation, depression, loss of appetite, anger, bereavement and loss, plus many other behavioural challenges such as anxiety and sleeplessness 

 

     Dr Nightingale is trained in a number of psychotherapies and psychoanalytical techniques which include:

 

1.   Cognitive Behaviour Therapy

 

2.   Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)

 

3.   Eriksonian Hypno-Psychotherapy

 

4.   General Hypno-Psychotherapy

6.   Gestalt therapy

 
 In addition, he is a specialist in the field of ameliorating transitional shock and depression and dementia in older people.
  

He is also trained in the practice of Reiki.

 

All these approaches and techniques can be useful for a number of presenting challenges, which include:

 

  • Anxiety
  •  Insomnia
  •  Depression and life transitions
  • Cessation of dependencies and habits
  • Management of stress and related disorders and personal crises
  


CONSULTATIONS

 

Dr Nightingale will visit you and carry out an initial consultation. This will involve taking a full and complete history and putting together a suggested therapy plan. Your partner or other family members may attend and be involved with this process if you so desire.

 

The initial consultation will last approximately one to two hours.

 

The agreed therapy plan may include a single or combined therapy from the list above.

 

Please enquire about the fees which are payable at the end of each session. Therapy sessions normally last for approximately 1 hour and we recommend an initial 3 sessions then a full review.
